Halloween 2010

Halloween 2010: This year Megan was a spider, and she was quite pleased with herself, explaining to everyone that she's a spider and that if she catches an heebie jeebie she'll eat them.

This was the first year that she expressed curiosity as to what candy was. Mommy explained
"Candy isn't good for you."
And then we proposed the following,
"When you get home you can trade the bad stuff to Daddy for Pretzels".
She then wanted to go home right away to get pretzels. When told
"the more candy you bring back, the more pretzels daddy will trade you."
she responded "Let's go to more houses!"

Baltimore-Virginia Beach 2010

June 2010, Baltimore, MD and Virginia Beach, VA - Cousins Jessica and Joshua in Virginia Beach were graduating from High School and Elementary School and Megan hadn't seen her Great Grandparents in a while so we dovetailed the trips together. Megan's Great Grandfather (Ah Zhou) would pass away less than a month after we visited, so we were really glad we were able to make this trip.

In Baltimore we visited with Jeff, Zoe and Irene and took a trip to Fort Mc Henry which is much smaller than the last fort we visited (Ft Jefferson) We also went to the Smithsonian Air and Space Annex at Dulles Airport with Megan's Ah Gong, and stopped at Great Falls Park on the way back.

In Virginia we visited First Landing's State Park, and the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge when not attending the graduation ceremonies.

Megan had a great time visiting everyone!

33rd and 34th Month

March, April 2010: These two months were filled with outdoor weekend activities, whether it was Strawberry Saturday, or The first day of Spring, or Trash Bash. We visited parks, wildlife refuges and nature centers.

She's taken an interest in cockroaches, and calls the ibby-jibbies, because they give mom the heebie-jeebies.

31st and 32nd Month

January - February 2010: We bought a yearly membership to the Armand Bayou Nature Center, and we've been taking Megan there about once a week. They have trails and activites and animals on display. We also started our garden, and Megan's been very helpful planting seeds.

Megan’s been starting to speak short sentences: Mommy heat it up; Daddy pick up Mommy; etc...

In addition to lizard and frogs and toads being kept as pets, Megan is starting to collect insects, pill bugs, june beetles, crane flies, centipedes and millipedes.
