Reading a weather chart and a newspaper

Megan picked up the weather forecast section of the newspaper and started to interpret it's meaning. She saw the top part which was telling me the temperature of our current location and then compared it to other states, including Texas. Then she saw different colors under this map and said mom what temperatures are these. I do not see them on the map. I said wait this is for the maps below .
