Today , we read this story and talked about the seven-yr old boy's jobs and what are the concerns of a small business owner. We went over things such as ordering and payig for supplies, electricity, insurance, paying hired help, building payments.
I talked to Megan about wether or not she thought the boy enjoyed his job and worked hard. We discussed it was better to work for family than strangers.
Megan discussed the type of business she would like to run. She would like to run a bug business with classes. She said she would have to hire an entomologist and an artist.
We learned why New England was called New England. How when pilgrims came to this new land from England they gave the new land this name. I pointed out Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts , Rhode Isla, and Connecticut.
