Great Megan Wang Tour 2007

Great Smoky Mountains NP - we saw a wild Black Bear!  (he was not too big and actually scrawny looking, kind of like a big woolly black dog, and Winston didn't get a good photo of him), but he walked right in front of the car.  Julie was so excited she asked Winston to get out of the car and take a better picture. To which the response was, "I don't think so, there's a BEAR out there"

The sighting took place early evening as we were going towards the Roaring Forks Auto tour. Before that we had hiked up to Clingman’s dome, (1.5 miles round trip to the highest point in Tennessee), and did a 1.5 mile hike with a Park Volunteer who told us all about the local plant and trees. On the Auto tour there’s a 2.2 mile round trip hike to grotto falls which we also did, and I think we enjoyed that the most.

As if that wasn’t enough walking while carrying Megan, that evening we walked 1 mile from our hotel to the restaurant for dinner.
