Brazoria Wildlife Refuge

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
After the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory, we went to Brazoria Wildlife Refuge. When, we got there, it looked really dry , so we dropped our guard against mosquitoes.   At first we walked a very short observation deck and, out in the distance, it looked like a desert because of the color and short bush like plants. Then, we drove on , and we saw a lot of water after this, first puddles and a beach like place. We saw the latter on a small trail. While we were on the trail, Winston left the windows open and either we brought them back with us, or they crawled into the car, but we were loaded with ticks everywhere. Megan, at first, noticed one on a paper towel.  They were on me at first, on my belly.  We stripped in the bathroom and checked ourselves. Then, we drove , and each time, we kept noticing them, on my forehead, crawling on the upholstery of the car, on the ceiling of the car, on my hat and inside the flap part, on Daddy's hat , on Daddy jeans, etc. They were everywhere. Megan had two on her head later when she woke up from a nap. I mean, it was a great day despite this.
